Stylish Energy-Efficient
Like-New Devotee Home

11988 Loch Lomond Rd, Loch Lomond, Ca

Built on the slopes of Seigler Mountain with a design that integrates the sloping quality of the lot, there is an opportunity to purchase an unusually attractive home that was built in 2003 and is still in the same pristine condition. The home has two levels with an entry into the living area including the kitchen and dining spaces, with the bedrooms and bathrooms elevated providing an interesting and appealing ambience to the home.

The home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms but the master bedroom suite has its own kitchen and separate driveway, parking space and outside entrance, and in addition is accessible through the main part of the home, so that it can be used as an entirely separate unit if desired. This gives the ability to utilize the home in different ways, either as a single household or two households living side by side, but still cooperatively.

The home is owned by Terry Cafferty and was built by Roger Gerakin, a very experienced local builder who, feeling the architectural importance of the integration between the home and the site, worked with Terry to design the home to reflect the slope that the home was on, and to otherwise create a high quality home that serves a conscious and cooperative lifestyle.

As you enter the home you are taken into a tiled floor entry area, open to the great room of the home, but with a coat closet and built-in shoe rack that allows staged entry from the outside into the home itself.

The home has a light and airy feeling to it, enhanced by lots of natural wood surfaces and trim. There are beautiful wood-finished vaulted ceilings and large windows from the living area expanding through wood-trimmed high-quality French doors onto the large deck that offers views and morning sun to the east, as well as shade in the hot afternoon summer sun. The floors are solid maple, which with their blond color contribute to the lightness of the space. The beautiful flooring extends up the stairs to the open stairway, from which you get an interesting viewpoint looking down on the living space. A propane fireplace finishes out the living space with a tile hearth and exposed maple mantelpiece.

This living area has an alluring ambience to it, capturing your attention, inviting you to stay.

The kitchen has tiled counter tops, plenty of quality white cabinets, a pantry, extra exposed wood shelving, and a view to the east. With its wood floors and whitewashed pine wood vaulted ceiling it integrates with the living area.

From here the home naturally flows up the stairs to the elevated walk way to the bedrooms and bathroom areas.

The master and one of the bedrooms is large, the third is medium sized. All the bedrooms have natural light on at least two sides.

There is a utility room that is also the rear entrance to the home.

A potent purposely-built Communion Hall to accommodate four people comfortably, has its doorway off the utility room.

The master bedroom suite is at the end of the hallway to the right. It also has an exterior entrance through its kitchen which can be used exclusively to make a completely separate unit.

The bedroom has vaulted tongue & groove wood ceilings and a fabulous luxury bathroom with a large soaking bath with beautiful tile surround, a separate shower, and tile floors. There is a large walk in closet.

Energy Efficiency Features

The home has been developed for maximally comfortable living despite what the seasons might deliver, with maximum efficiency.

Solar Panels

Two SUNDA SEIDO 20AS models

Hot Water

The panels heat hot water which is stored in four 50 gallon insulated storage tanks.

When the sun is not shining, the water is heated via an on-demand Munchkin MC80 propane boiler.

Radiant Floors

The home is heated by this hot water being circulated in tubing mounted under the floors throughout the home, making it especially comfortable and divided into 4 zones, each one individually temperature controllable via its own programmable thermostat.

The floors have extra insulation beyond normal code requirements to ensure there is minimal heat leakage.

Back Up Generator Generac 8 kW

The generator runs 80% of the whole house, and comes on whenever the line voltage from PG&E fails. The system starts and self-tests itself once a week.

Water Filter

All the water that comes into the house is filtered through this system

Cooling

The master unit and the other part of the house each has its own dedicated evaporative cooling system.

The site is one acre and it backs onto the Mountain Of Attention so it serves as a buffer property for the Sanctuary. There are devotee owned properties on both sides and it is in the devotee village close to the Sanctuary.

There is a carport and additional parking for two other cars in the front of the home up a paved driveway. There is also parking for another vehicle at the rear. A carport can be added here as well.

The home is offered for sale for $250,000. This is significantly below the cost of construction and represents an opportunity to own and live in one of the best homes close to The Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary. Terry Cafferty, the owner, is also open to cooperative forms of ownership with himself and other devotees.
